Finger Print Bureau
Haryana State Finger Prints Bureau started its function independently with effect from 01. 10 .74 under the aegis of CID. The Finger Print Bureau was established during the year 1972 and SI-6, ASI-5 and Constable-2 were sanctioned vide Government letter No. 2102-54-11-72 dated 21-3-1972 and started functioning during 1974. In the year 1976 the post of Inspector/ Incharge, Finger Print Bureau was upgraded to the post of Director/ Dy. Supdt. Of Police , Finger Print Bureau, Haryana . Further forty seven more posts in different ranks were sanctioned subsequently for Computer Centre, Scene of Crime and Photo Section in Finger Print Bureau. Moreso, 11 posts of Single Digit Clerks from existed districts were also diverted and merged in Finger Print Bureau. When Finger Print bureau came into existence there were Seven districts and One Range i.e. Ambala and now there are 4 ranges and 22 districts/Units include three commissionrate at Gurgaon, Faridabad and Ambala & Panchkula and Railway Haryana. Now it is a wing of State Crime Record Bureau Haryana since 1987. There are eight branches in the bureau, which co-coordinately do their work. It is well established with latest equipments. The vital role which the finger print system of identification plays in the detection and prevention of crime can not be over estimated, for, finger prints provide the most certain an unanswerable evidence.

Functions of FPB
  1. Lifting of Chance Finger Prints, if any, matching of Latent  Chance Prints with the available Finger Prints  and Scene of Crime Collection in FPB.
  2. Matching of Disputed Prints with the Admitted Prints in documents    received from  Police Agencies and Courts in the State.
  3. Training to the officials of Himachal Pradesh for appearing Finger Print Expert Examination held at CFPB, New Delhi in the Year 2006.
  4. Adequate training for one month duration is being imparted to the Basic Finger Print Proficient of the various district in the State.
  5. Refresher course is also conducted at this Bureau for one month duration is being imparted to the Basic Finger Print Proficient of the various district in the State.
  6. Training to IOs of the State how to take proper and clear Finger Prints of the suspects during investigation of the case.
  7. Training for other visitors from Universities, Academies and Judicial authorities.

Three types of cases are received in this section:-

  1. Civil cases received from courts and other Govt. authorities.
  2. Criminal cases received from Police.
  3. Cases in scene of crime along with suspect search slips.

Record Section

  • To receive Finger Print (Records ) Slips from various districts in the state for record of this Bureau as well as to submit to other Bureaux.

  • To check whether Finger Print (Records) Slips are recorded properly and as per provision laid in 25.1 FPBM.

  • Return the defective Finger Print (Records ) Slips to the concerned district for submission fresh slips.

  • To prepare single cards of the criminals at this Bureau.

SCRB have purchased 50 Hand Held device units through Hartron. The device will be used by district’s police at PCR & police Naka for identification of suspected person through Finger Print. The device will connected with central server of SCRB. In this regarding training has already been provide by concerned firm to District police officials and device hand over.

TRAINING - Our Initiative

  • 109 POLICE PERSONNEL WERE TRAINED IN DEVELOPING, LIFTING & PHOTOGRAPHY W.E.F. 18-08-08 TO 30-09-08.

  • 112 POLICE PERSONNEL WERE TRAINED IN SCIENTIFIC INVESTIGATION OF SCENE OF CRIME (INTEGRATED COURSE ON HANDLING FINGER PRINTS & PHYSICAL EVIDENCES AND PHOTOGRAPHY).66 POLICE PERSONNEL WERE TRAINED IN LIVE-SCANNER.

  • One month basic proficient course is run for ors of various police units like district police, haryana armed and india reserve battalions. the course is held every month. number of participants varies from 30 to 35. from the year 1974 to 2020 total 12900 police personnel have been trained.

BEST ACHIEVEMENTS of Finger Prints Haryana

Four officials of this Bureau have obtained 1st Position in All India Finger Print Expert Examination conducted by MHA GOI. It is honour to the State that First lady of the SCRB namely Smt. Neelam stood Ist in the year 2007. Names of the officials who got this esteem is given below.
